The second week of Argonauts of Tu'Lia comes to a close.  So far our trigger runs in particular have been very efficient. 

This week we are hoping to add 2 more dios’ so that we can knock out 3 Byakko and start making kitty shorts people happy.  We have been lucky to have a very solid Sky tank (who doesn’t hate to tank like other people.. shaid.. fun).  We also have some very experienced healers and stunners.  That combination (plus a pigtailed brd doing her best to kill the DD’s with buffs) equals win in sky! 

I am “perma BRD” as Shuggz put it, but I don’t mind so much in Sky.  In the future I’m sure I will have plenty of opportunities to kill my BLM. 

Recently, I was lucky enough to lot high on Goliard Body and Cuffs in Nyzul so I am excited about that.  Oh and a while back I finally bought an Enfeebling Torque but have had little opportunity to use it.  I guess that’s not entirely true.  I have been using BLM for off-time trigger farming.  It’s frustrating to see that I can do 1600+ on zip but I see a lot of resists for around 800 and every once in a while, an embarrassing 400.  I don’t do much enfeebling since I have Fun’s RDM there watching my back.  We have a lot of RDM’s lol.  Last time we farmed Despot we had THREE!  Plus 2 RNG’s and a lone BLM (me). 

I am having a good time in Sky, which is a relief.  When I stopped doing sky last time I was so burned out I couldn’t imagine ever going back.  At the time I had everything I needed for BRD and MNK (I guess that’s a lie since I don’t have Shura head or body).  But now I am looking for RDM gear… specifically red-go-fast-pants.  Shaid and Fun want those as well so I am planning to horde my points until they have theirs and then I will use them ALL!  I might also go for an Osode since I gave Valout’s to Fun. 

New Sky LS run by a friend of Frypan, Shaid.  Triggers went smoother than I have ever seen triggers go, Gods tomorrow (I'll be out with a friend)

Now I just need to get RDM to 70!

I’ve been trying to get into the campaign groove to level both my WHM (63) and my RDM (58).  I have had a few friends try to help me understand the process of finding a battle that is just beginning but I have to say on the whole it still seems like a colossal waste of time.  If your aim is to level quickly anyway.  If, however your aim is to avoid seeking and participating in parties that you are in the right place.  I am trying to rank up, I am told that will help me through the tedium that is campaign so far.  It is nice to have something to do if you only have a small amount of down time before events and it’s a nice way to say “screw you” to all the would-be party leaders inviting the lone RDM to the “5-DD’s and me” party. 

After days of scraping by in campaign Fun offers to level sync his NIN with me to actually party.  I put him in my comments and did not seek long before 2 invites popped up.  One from a BLU with a BRD and the other from a DRK with a COR.  I took the BRD party, I’m partial what can I say?  I chose well.  This was without a doubt the best functioning party I have had through the entire range of 40-60 on RDM.  When will people stop thinking that a set up that works at 75 does not necessarily work at lower levels?  Rant aside, having Fun on NIN was like a dream.  He required little more than haste and an occasional regen.  Say what you will about Japanese players but the BRD and BLU were excellent.  Far exceeding my expectations from even most 75 players.  The party chugged along at a very nice pace and I dinged twice into my pimp AF body at level 58!

I’ve also been reliving my past in a different way.. “The One to Be Feared”.  Airship oh airship how do I love thee?  I have been helping out Shaid’s CoP static by standing in as the paper taru WHM.  When my static did it I went on BLM so it’s interesting from a different perspective.  Shaid’s group is more limited on job choices than my group was so we are working on strategies to make a different set-up work.   It’s been fun and along the way I have gotten to know some very nice new people.  I can’t wait to get them to sea and then kill them…

Me: “Oh… right.  Um, watch out for the UFOs’.  I’ll come raise”

My first party back and it was really nice to hang with friends and die in a retarded and unnecessary way! I want to thank everyone (air, koli, bb, shuggz, and especially fun) for coming to just have fun with me, it meant a lot.   There has been much standing, dancing, and fireworking and I have been having a great time catching up with everyone! 

Soooo... this post is a few months after the fact but guess what?  

I haven't been playing!
/waits for the surprise to wear off

I had been planning to take a break from the game for a while before I actually left, for many reasons.  A few of which can be seen from my older posts.  The thing that has surprised me is that I really haven't missed playing.  Which is not to say that I don't miss the people!  
I finally canceled my ID's this month and accepted that this break is going to be a bit longer. 

No.  I am not quitting.  No!  You can't have my fish tanks!

Someone will need to keep Shuggz in line and remind him to drink water (vodka doesn't count as water)! 
 

Anyway, don't you all quit before I come back I hope to talk to you all via /tell again!

I also went and helped kill some Ram for ysa's relic shield.  Well by helped I mean that I waltzed in for the last 40 minutes of a 3 hour fight.  By the time I got there people were talking about falling asleep at the keyboard and complaining about dying constantly while weakened lol.   I came on BLM and it was utter chaos but still fun.

Tomorrow night Deemo will be on and he wants to work on his ZNM.  I also want to make time to farm codex's and hate for Fun and Deemo to get go fast belts.

It's 2:40am and I just found one of these giant hideous bugs in the worst way.

Salvage run with Kyriac's group...

Deemo and I planned to level THF and SMN 38~39 last night but when we got on there were literally 2 other players in our level range.  So we took our excellent job combination on the road!  I came up with the brilliant idea of trying areas in the past.  I thought that would be great for two reasons; one, I think the past is nifty but I haven't gotten to do a lot in the zones and two, because I could have refresh with sigil.  Having no idea where an appropriate camp might be we left Sandy on foot (no other choice right?).  The past is strange, unlike most other exp zones you find a huge range of monster levels in small areas.  We tried some bones and some floating plants then we zoned out into Jugner and tried crabs and more floaty plants.  It was slow going and we died more than a little bit.  Sug came out to save us and he sped things up considerably.  All in all it wasn't a success as far as attaining levels go but it was fun and different so it was a success in other ways!

Blow Stuff Up!
I took my BLM out to exp last night and was pleasantly surprised at the boost in damage the HQ stave's and obi's have made. I feel like I am finally doing the damage expected of my pigtail-ness! I really love BLM and I hope I can find more uses for it in the near future. I took it out on some of our Windy Missions but found for most things small-man style a BRD is more useful than BLM. Mostly because Frypan has some really pwn melee DD's and no can pull off crowd control quite like a BRD.

(Also, I have forgotten how to use healing magic on BLM >.>)

I have played BRD for so long it stands to reason that I am more comfortable on the job and more familiar with my limitations. Meaning, I take on more than I can handle on BLM fairly often >.> Mackie is always having to remind me to run when kiting things lol. I am always thinking, I can take it down before it kills me. Sometimes that's true, and sometimes NOT! Last night my Freeze II's were a consistent 1940, which makes me happy considering the MP use that is fairly efficient. I think I can squeeze a little more out by upgrading my head and feet. Also that was just an NQ pie.

Salvage Who?
Tonight I will try to actually make the Salvage event. I think they are fairly pissed we haven't made a run since last Friday but we told them there would be obstacles and the only required events are MWF. Granted we missed Monday but RL Child > everything else. We'll see...

Now that I have my sights set on BLM that morrigan's robe looks pretty hawt.

I want to be just like Kyr! He will always be HQme lol.

Finished Windy! Danced on a dead Schizm! Finally bought a Jupiter's and Pluto's staff!

This week we will be trying more salvage with that new LS. I would also like to see about farming codex's and possibly doing a run on Friday. Bastok missions after a little break, probably a week(ish). Finish my Thunder Obi and test out my new fun stave's! I would also like to level WHM in the near future because quite frankly pigtails are adorable in WHM gear!
